KUCHING: Partners in the state tourism industry must work together with Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) to provide seamless business transaction for travellers planning to holiday in Sarawak.
The Board’s acting chief officer Mary Wan Mering said its main task is to market the destination, but the final sales pitch (to draw customers) must be undertaken by the agents and hoteliers.
Speaking at the Board’s industry syndication session with travel partners in Sibu yesterday, Mary said it’s the duty of agents to package product experiences in Sarawak to give value-for-money.
“The Board thus calls for partnership with agents and product owners, hoteliers, city councils and those related to the industry,” she said.
Sarawak Tourism Industry Syndication wrapped up in Sibu yesterday after conducting sessions in Kuching and Miri on Nov 24 and 27 respectively.
Industry syndication sessions were held annually to touch base with local industry partners, renew enthusiasm, get feedback as well as review plans for 2018 to increase visitor arrivals and tourism revenue for Sarawak.
