KUCHING: The inaugural Sarawak Dialogue (SD) themed ‘Sarawak, The Bridge to New Beginnings’ that focuses on digital technology, education, health and tourism, will take place here from Feb 26 to 28.
“During the dialogue, selected individuals will contribute their expertise to spur development in Sarawak,” said SD organising chairman Adrain Jerome during a press conference here yesterday.
The dialogue attracts international investors to explore business opportunities in Sarawak.
“SD is set to attract many international business individuals and corporations to explore new opportunities and partners, and also consider choice ventures in the state. Many are encouraged to pursue opportunities with public and/or private sector entities,” said Adrain.
The key sectors of digital technology, education, health and tourism as well as the opportunities that they present will be up for deliberation during the speakers-panellists sessions for better understanding of what the state could offer to interested individuals and corporations.
Many speakers, who are practising experts in their fields, will present the latest findings and applications for Sarawakians to progress ahead of the competition, which is stiffer in today’s world.
This event invites selected high-profile individuals and premier corporations to share views, discuss and deliberate on networking opportunities in various businesses, which can lead to and secure project partnerships.
The speakers, panellists and moderators include Sarawak State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani; Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia Olexander Nechytaylo; Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Azman Ujang; Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation chief executive officer (CEO) Dr Mohd Shahreen Zainooreen Madros; AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes; 500 Startups Silicon Valley managing partner Khailee Ng from the US; Oxford Project Southeast Asia trustee Prof Gerard Bodeker; and Neurosky Inc CEO Stanley Yang from the US.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate at the opening ceremony on Feb 26.
