Dr Mohd Shahreen Madros is the CEO of MATRADE/Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, having been appointed early this year.
After graduating with First Class Honours from the University of London, and Doctorate from the University of Cambridge, Dr Shahreen joined ESSO Production Malaysia Inc (EPMI), in the Development Project Division. At EPMI, he partook in offshore project development covering extensive areas and departments for both Malaysian and Indonesian fabrication yards. He also overseed the installation of offshore facilities.
For two years, he was assigned to Exxon Production Research Company in Houston to undertake research activities as well as many international development projects.
After some nine years with EPMI, Dr Shahreen left to join INTEC Engineering to handle offshore design consultancy projects, for both local and international clients. Amongst the notable local projects that Dr Shahreen had handled are the Sarawak Shell’s Cilipadi project, and project management, floating production storage and offloading facilities for MISC Bunga Kertas.
Dr Shahreen is also an executive director for Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), a unit within the Prime Minister’s Department.
As the seventh CEO of MATRADE, Dr Shahreen aims to forge even more strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders in both private and public sectors at various levels within ministries, agencies, trade associations, chambers of commerce and business councils, so as to ensure Malaysia remains competitive globally.
